“With the wind blowing in my favor, two 8 point bucks came prancing out of an island of trees and meandered right towards me. They came within 20 feet of me before they realized I was standing there with my camera. Several months’ work went into this one, designing it from my photographs and then painting... With a sunlit-wall of cabbage palms as a backdrop; I wanted this piece to be a real, native Florida scene. I think this painting captures the feeling of being right there, with these truly magnificent wild animals.” -Peter R. Gerbert
